Pastel on 24x18" paper. This picture was completed in a single sitting after a discussion in my french class about people who moved to a near by town in hopes of begining a happy life in the country who realized that there homes were built on a dumping site for some company's toxic waste. Nearly all the children contracted lukemia. The story drove me to create a piece that I attempted to make frightening. The bright orange is resemblant of toxic waste. Completed November 2004.
