Selkuk Sunrise |
Sunrise! We take breakfast at a sidewalk table.
Traditional Moslem women wear a head scarf and long coat in public,
appearing staid and dour, but the children laugh and play with abandon.
The long distance bus ride here was pleasant, in an air-conditioned comfortable Mercedes coach. Turkish buses cost about one-fifth as much as long-distance buses in the States. They run on schedule, are clean, and serve tea and snacks. Today we will visit Ephesus, the largest and best-preserved ancient city around the Mediterranean, and the second most visited tourist area in Turkey. Tomorrow we head south to Konya.
