| MEXICO '88 ............. We spent an evening with Lacondone Indians. The leader (center, wearing watch) was able to speak some English. These are the last of the Mayans. The ancient tribe was caught between two eras, when tree cutters discovered them recently. Once considered Cannibals, they were a gentle shy people suddenly thrust into the modern world. The boy, Kayum, had his first experience of painting when I showed him my watercolor set, during a very special evening meeting. See more here. |
